Today is the day for you to truly show up for yourself.
Why wait until tomorrow? Why wait until your life is “better” is some way?!
(News flash, it never will be)
I’ve been thinking a lot about how I show up for myself in life and for me, everything comes back to the heart and finding a way to live (and breathe) from the heart space (which includes):
How to be in the heart, how to speak from the heart, how to listen to the heart, how to follow the guidance and pull of the heart.
I’ve realised that it’s the life I’m destined to live, the life I desire to live because things always feel better when I follow my heart (It’s been a while since I’ve felt that a conventional lifestyle is for me).
But it’s not just for me, I truly believe it’s the life we’re all meant to live… it could even be the main reason you came to this earth, to truly show up for yourself, to embrace and embody who YOU are and bring all the beauty of your heart and soul into this world!
Imagine what sort of life and world you could create if this was how you were living every day!!
A pretty damn magical one I imagine!
So where is the heart space?
The heart space is literally in the dead centre of your chest. It is the core of you, where your true self lies. It’s how you connect to your higher self and to God. You know exactly where it is, all I have to do is ask you to point to yourself and your hand will automatically go to your heart space.
Why do I want to live from the heart space?
The heart space is a space of love, peace, joy, gratitude and compassion and I couldn’t think of a better way to live, can you?!
This does not mean that there won’t still be moments of pain or challenges or stress… but when you live from the heart, (and not the head), you are present, you don’t live in fear and as a result, you find the way back to those emotions and that peaceful, joyful state of being much more quickly.
You see the beauty in everything. You understand that everything (whether we label it good or bad), happens FOR you. When you live from the heart you are strong, capable, creative, in love with your life, at peace. You’ll find yourself laughing at silly things, feeling more child like, smiling more, noticing details in the world you never noticed before, having conversations with random strangers, being more in nature, wanting less and living in a way that allows you to feel free.
So today, I’m deciding to show up for myself.
I’m deciding to be present to what is (even if I’m not exactly where I want to be) and love every minute of it.
I’m deciding to be IN my heart space and communicate FROM my heart space as much as possible.
I’m deciding to do things that show me that I love me.
And if I’m feeling called, I might even decide to have a little dance party in my living room!
But most importantly, I’m deciding that it’s never too late to start showing up for myself and that in order to embody this way of being, to feel it and be it deep in my heart and soul, I literally MUST “start” showing up for myself EVERY.SINGLE.DAY!
Won’t you join me?!
And take a deep dive into true heart-centred living for yourself?
There’s no catch whatsoever here. We are all in this together so why not all learn and grow together?!
So…
Step 1: Start saying the affirmation every day:
“Today is the day I truly show up for myself”
Say it when you wake up or even set a reminder on your phone that alerts you, say, 3 times a day.
Step 2: Decide on ONE way that you are going to show up for yourself today. (Write it down)
Step 3: Take a deep breath and then, DO THAT THING! 👆🏼
What is your heart calling you to do? (I guarantee it’s NOT eating junk food, laying on the couch watching netflix).
Ask your heart what would bring you into a state of peace, love, joy, gratitude or compassion (you can just focus on the one you want most). Answers may include things like moving your body, meditation or breathwork, creating something, being in nature, being with loved ones, being with animals or doing that thing you’re most SCARED to do!
Step 4: Repeat this every day until it becomes second nature… you’ve got to be consistent (which means you’ve got to want change – and growth – badly enough)
However, for some (every day, with no end in sight), that may feel too hard, so maybe start with a goal of say, 7 days. At the end of the 7 days, reward yourself in some way, see how you feel and then keep going.
You’ve got this!!
I’ll check in with you next week to see how you’re going, but please feel free to comment below and share your thoughts!
Much love you beautiful soul. Enjoy showing up for yourself!
