2022 Reflections


So I originally sent this an an email to my subscribers before New Year’s Eve but I thought it was too invaluable to not share it with whoever wants to read it and take action now.

So if you’re reading this in January of 2023, even February, it’s still not too late to do this.

Beyond that, it’s possible you’ve gone blank on 2022 and it may be time to leave it in the past and move on ūüėČ. Your call.¬†

Regardless, reflection is an awesome thing to do, no matter the time of year… so let’s get into it!


2023 is here!


When I say that, what thoughts and emotions do you feel instantly rising within you?

Good ones like excitement, joy and gratitude I hope!

But if not, that’s ok too. That’s your survival brain doing it’s thing. Thank it for looking out for you and teaching you what NOT to do!

If you care to join me for a little reflection today, this is what I invite you to do before the end of 2023.
(You’ll want a timer, paper and a pen)

Sit down when you have a spare 10-15 minutes.
(Before everyone in the house wakes up is a great time, or even before you go to sleep.)

Set a timer for 5 minutes.
Close your eyes and start breathing in for 5 counts and out for 5.
Quiet your mind and allow your body to feel completely relaxed.

Ok, now you’re ready for the activity.

Set a timer for 5-10 minutes.

Make a list of¬†all the¬†ways you’ve¬†grown¬†in 2022.


Did your brain just have a little tantrum as you were reading this?!

Did it just say something like¬†“But I didn’t¬†grow at all in 2022!”

Or maybe it said¬†“I wasted this year, I wanted to do (and¬†grow) so much more than I did!”

Whatever things your brain is telling you about your lack of effort or growth this year (make sure you listen because sometimes the words are very softly spoken but they are spoken), I still want you to do this activity.

Because you HAVE grown this year my friend!

You are definitely NOT the same person you were at the beginning of 2022.

So give yourself a pat on the back. You’ve learnt so much, you’ve expanded your awareness, you’ve made commitments to changes you would never have made 12 months ago because you weren’t ready back then!

So tell your brain to shut it, it’s lying to you. It’s just doing its survival, protective thing. And whilst that is ok, it doesn’t have to be this way.

Because our thoughts, our mind, is the one thing that is completely in our control!

The one thing we can choose to change¬†to go from being a glass half¬†empty kind of thinker, to a glass half full one… or better still, overflowing with possibility!

And these thoughts will impact on how you feel.¬†I’m sure¬†you understand this concept by now, but here’s some clarification just in case…

Whatever you think creates the feeling in your body. So think lots of shitty stuff about yourself and your life, and you will feel shitty in your body.
Flip the thoughts to be ones that are loving, supportive, compassionate, generous etc and whaddaya know it, you will suddenly be feeling all the good feels!

Which is how we create our lives.
Think contractive thoughts, feel the feelings of contraction and your creations will reflect this.
Think expansive thoughts, feel the feelings of expansion and your creations will reflect this.

And the beauty of free will is that YOU get to choose which thoughts you want to have! That’s power right there!

So back to that list of good stuff and growth for 2022…

Make a list of as much as you can think of, expanding into all areas of your life.

Maybe you did physical things to create change and growth like joining a gym, eating better, creating a schedule, taking a course…

Maybe you got something done that you’d been procrastinating about forever…

Keep asking yourself¬†“what else did I accomplish/create/achieve?”

Make the list, then when you’re done,¬†go and read it.
Read it today, read it tomorrow, and the day after. When you wake, before bed, on the loo.

Keep reading it and reminding yourself of the incredible year of growth you’ve had.

And believe that all that and more is possible for 2023.
